**When communicating with IRCC, it is important to clearly explain your situation and provide all relevant details. Otherwise, you may receive information that is not accurate.**

**After you submit the** [**Web Form**](https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx) **you will not receive a confirmation email.&#x20;Usually, it takes IRCC 2 to 5 business days to respond.**

Also, one can send an email to CPC Ottawa at <CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca>, it usually is faster than a web form. Documents uploaded using the webform are not reflected in MyCIC account, only those uploaded through MyCIC can be viewed there.

* then press 1 to check status (there will be a pause)
* hear detailed status at the end press 0 to speak to agent
